We Believe that the Books of the Old and New Testaments constitute the Holy Scriptures. They are the inspired and infallibly written Word of God, fully inerrant in their original manuscripts and superior to all human authority, have been transmitted to the present without corruption of any essential doctrine, and are the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We Believe that there is one living and true God, both holy and loving, eternal, unlimited in power, wisdom and goodness, the Creator and Preserver of all things. Within this unity there are three persons of one essential nature – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We Believe that God created humanity and the entire universe by special operation of divine power.

We Believe in the fall of humanity and the consequent sinful nature of all persons, which necessitates a divine atonement. No person may be saved in his or her own strength, but each is by nature continually inclined to sin. However, through Jesus Christ, the prevenient grace of God makes it possible for all who will turn and be saved.

We Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, truly God and truly human, and in His virgin birth, His matchless teachings, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection and ascension, and His promised second coming.

We Believe in justification by grace through faith and in regeneration of the Holy Spirit, who makes the penitent believer a new creation in Christ and commences His lifelong sanctifying work.

We Believe that the Christian may be filled with the Holy Spirit, or sanctified wholly, as a definite act of divine grace wrought in the heart of the believer, to take possession, cleanse and equip for service, and fill the heart with love for God and neighbour, on condition of total surrender and obedient faith.

We Believe in the Church, the Body of Christ, made up of all believers in Jesus Christ, who is the head of the Church. The Church includes both those believers who have gone to be with the Lord and those who remain on Earth. The Church on Earth gathers for worship, fellowship, nurture and evangelism as well as actively engaging the world in mission and social action.

We Believe in the two sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, instituted by Christ, and ordained as a means of grace when received through faith. They are both signs of our Christian profession and seals of God’s gracious ministry toward us. By them He works within us to quicken, strengthen and confirm our faith.

We Believe in the return of Christ, and the bodily resurrection of the dead – of the saved to everlasting blessedness and of the lost to everlasting punishment.
